Family and Community Learning - Work Wiltshire

Learners can apply if they meet one of the following statuses:

• have a learning difficulty or disability
• have refugee status
• foster carer
• care leaver
• carer
• military family
• ex-armed forces personnel
• currently unemployed and would like to work in the future

Courses are funded by the Education and Skills Funding Agency.

• learners must be aged 19+ by 31 August 2024 to enrol this academic year. Learners must have a Wiltshire postcode (or a child at school in Wiltshire) and they must have lived in the UK/EU for three years prior to the course (certain immigration statuses exempt, including resettlement schemes).
• learners must also be either on a lower income, earning less than £25,000pa, or in receipt of benefits (other than child benefit).

The programme offers a holistic service that provides personalised support to people with significant barriers & challenges to help them build their independence and move towards education & employment outcomes.

A personalised needs' analysis, circles of support map and holistic support action plan will be developed with each participant. They will then be offered a range of one-to-one and group activities based on their individual needs as they progress through support.

In addition, Building Bridges will also offer:

• access to self-confidence building courses
• volunteering and work experience activities
• debt and benefit advice
• travel training
• one to one counselling, anxiety, and mental health support
• support in gaining skills and qualifications

Participants will be supported to develop their CV, job search skills and interview skills and have access to support for up to three months to help them sustain their education and employment outcomes.

Skills Bootcamps are available free of charge for individual learners who are job searching and looking to improve their skills. It is also available for self employed people who are looking to progress their business.
