Bag books and multi-sensory stories are a free resource available from Wiltshire's Libraries
All our libraries have special children's areas with a range of books and resources for all ages and abilities, some of which are free of charge, such as:
- Audiobooks
- Books for children with dyslexia (opens new window)
- Books in larger print
- Multi-sensory stories - these are handmade by the charity Bag Books (opens new window), and presented in a large box which contains various objects that can be touched, moved, smelt, worn, played with; and relate to simple stories. These can be reserved for free via our catalogue (opens new window), see also suggested reads (opens new window) for other similar fiction and non-fiction media.

Museum Mystery by Sophie Baker
The Multi-Tones are in the studio, recording their next single. They stay up all night perfecting it, but how will their fans react when they perform it live for the first time?
Contents of the multi-sensory items bag include: gold record, a violin, a drum and stick, a maraca, coffee aroma, a microphone, a toy mixing console, a tie, a CD, and a hand clapper.
