On Monday 22 July, Melksham Community Campus played host to the counties first ever Get Out, Get Active (GOGA) Games. Developed and delivered by the Sport and Physical Activity team, the games provided a unique opportunity for current GOGA participants from across the county to come together and take part in a fun, friendly festival.

88 individuals from four GOGA clubs took part in a variety of activities including, relays, tennis, golf, hockey and dance, whilst representing their respective GOGA group in a Boccia competition.
Following the activities, participants had a chance to meet new people and share GOGA stories over a coffee and slice of cake.

A great time was had by all with many requesting the GOGA Games becomes an annual event in the calendar.

Thank you all for organising such an amazing GOGA Games. L was s o looking forward to it and had the best time.

It was a truly enjoyable occasion for me. What a great meet-up.

The inaugural GOGA Games was a huge success. We all enjoyed the occasion immensely, so obviously it will now have to be an annual event.

It was such a lovely atmosphere with all groups there. Definitely worth it.

Get Out, Get Active (GOGA) is funded by the national charity Activity Alliance. It encourages the least active members of our community to become more active, provides opportunities for disabled and non-disabled people to be active together and supports individuals to become more social in their communities.

The GOGA programme runs throughout the county with sessions taking place in Melksham, Calne, Amesbury, Redlynch, Tidworth, Ludgershall and Chippenham. For more information contact sportsdevelopment@wiltshire.gov.uk (opens new window).
