The Wiltshire Parent Carer Council (WPCC) (opens new window) is Wiltshire's parent carer forum. They are an independent organisation, run by parent carers for parent carers and they strive to enable parent carers to work as partners with services to positively inform decisions about the SEND services their children and young people access. Additional to their participation and co-production work, they provide a number of other services, including their popular and highly regarded SEND Information Service (SENDIS) which supports parent carers and those working to support them, to find the information and support they need, when they need it. The WPCC is a unique and highly regarded parent carer forum, and it seeks to work in partnership with as many services and agencies as possible.

The WPCC regularly receives requests from staff from a variety of services (often those new in-post) to meet with them and find out what they do. They welcome these opportunities as it builds relationships and partnerships, and they hope to be able to play a helpful role in new staff induction and training. The number of requests from individuals to meet them is increasing significantly and it can sometimes be difficult for the WPCC to fit all the requests in.

The WPCC is therefore offering a trial session where staff from any service are invited to join them to hear the same information they give on an individual basis and have an opportunity to ask questions to support their learning and understanding. New staff and those who have previously met with the WPCC are welcome to join.

The trial session will be virtual and will provide an opportunity to meet a number of different members of the WPCC team, find out more about what the WPCC does and the roles of different members of the team. They also want to build in time for attendees to ask any questions to support their understanding.

Date: Tuesday 3 October 2023
Time: 10.30am to 12 noon

Interested in joining? email reception@wiltspcc.co.uk (opens new window) or telephone the WPCC on 01225 764647 and they will send you a joining link.

The WPCC looks forward to meeting you.
